POWER Metro brings together people across lines of difference and suburban distance that have historically divided them, to build a new kind of community and advance the common good.POWER Metro has been a leader on the state-level campaign to restore billions in cuts to the state’s Basic Education Fund and to implement a funding formula to correct for racial bias. We also led efforts in 2017 to lift up the voices of those impacted by proposed cuts in the health care safety net and successfully urged local lawmakers to preserve the federal Affordable Care Act and CHIP health care program.POWER Metro has since expanded to Bucks, Delaware and Chester Counties. As a coalition of faith communities across Pennsylvania, we recognize the moral and economic imperative of investing in policies that protect the environment, expand affordable housing, and fully fund public education. Governor Shapiro has set forth a common-sense agenda for strengthening Pennsylvania’s position as an energy leader. His plan will make energy cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable for families and…Read More Dr. King’s Radical Legacy and the Paradox of Inauguration DayBy Rev. Dr. Gregory Edwards, Executive Director, POWER Interfaith  January 20th marks an extraordinary confluence of events: the inauguration of our nation’s next president and the commemoration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy. This overlap is both symbolic and sobering, illuminating the vast distance between Dr. King’s prophetic vision and the present state of our nation. Dr. King was more than a dreamer. He was a prophet of resistance, calling for an end to racism, poverty, and militarism. Yet, year after year, his message is diluted, his radical demands for justice sanitized into soundbites. On this day,…Read MoreRising Together in the Fight for Democracy in 2025Rising Together in the Fight for Democracy in 2025 Philadelphia, PA (January 7, 2025)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Our faith calls us to this work, and together, we will rise to meet…Read More ANNOUNCEMENT: POWER Interfaith Board Appoints Rev.
