Method
We classify the first MX host with a pattern table: aspmx.l.google.com → Google Workspace, *.mail.protection.outlook.com → Microsoft 365, and so on. Domains with no MX, a null MX, or an unrecognised host fall into the trailing buckets. The first MX is used as a proxy for the whole zone — true multi-vendor setups are rare and would land in other.
