Curious about cyanotype but have no experience yet? Perfect! This hands-on workshop is all about creative experimentation — no prior knowledge required. Together, we’ll explore the fascinating blue world of cyanotype printing. Bring along your digital photos or interesting objects for photograms (think leaves, tools, glass, fabrics—anything that catches your eye). Each participant will receive six pre-coated A5 templates (paper and fabric) to work with. You’ll also have the chance to coat and expose your own materials with cyanotype emulsion (up to size A4). This is NOT a professional art class where you leave with a polished masterpiece. It’s a playful, collaborative space for first experiments with digital negatives and UV light—a place to share ideas, try new things, and discover unexpected results. There are three workshop dates available, and each one can be booked individually. Want more time to explore? Join multiple sessions to deepen your experiments and build on what you’ve learned. Each day 60.- Each workshop day will take place with at least 2 binding registrations. The workshop is facilitated by Michael Bachhofer @OpenCave. Please bring a tablet, laptop, or smartphone with any image-editing software or if possible, send your digital photos by email the day before (.jpg, 2000px to max. 5000 px on the long side) so they can be printed as laser negatives on transparency film. Feel free to write and draw on the film or modify it in any way — then use it to create your cyanotypes.
